Hey, not every concept connects with me right off, but i”m quickly learning the best of my work comes when I stretch and do something outside my comfort zone. Thats what i discovered when Jaay’d's shoot. This was amazingly fun to do, since we had to “create something” as we pulled our influences together.

When cherry blossoms are in bloom, you have to shoot! Kaylee was a trouper, scaling trees like a sperhero….in lingerie.

I love the light at sunset; it combined with the orchard to give us a very classy, and soft/ elegant feel.

Simply beautiful…

Well, it’s been far too long since I posted…why? I’ve been BUSY…

No excuse? Yepp, you’re right. So here I am, getting in gear…

I’ve been shooting a lot of Glamour work recently, and I thought it was a good idea to post some. This is the third of fourth time I’ve shot with this phenomenal young lady. She’s going places, and when you looks at the photos, you’ll see why…

Yvette and Adam – Oliver, B.C.-July 3rd, 2010

I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this couple for almost a year. They were one of the first couples to receive my guest signing offer when I implemented the promotion for advance booking wedding clients. I photographed their complimentary engagement session last April, and since then we have been in contact on Facebook, where I often chat with Yvette. I find them both to be one of the most delightful couples I have ever encountered as a photographer. They are really great people.

On to their wedding…

Yvette was quite nervous that day. She wanted everything to be “just as she has dreamed”. This is something I encounter with almost every bride, so my wife and I did our best to help her as much as we could throughout the day to keep it special, and relaxed. We had a blast! Everyone was so fun!

It was the first time I photographed a wedding in a Vineyard (their parent’s), and the reception was also their right on the property. I wasn’t fan of the mosquitoes (I got eaten alive!), but everything else was a complete blast!

Colin and Loretta – Spirit Ridge Resort, Osoyoos, B.C.-June 26th, 2010

Weddings in the desert are usually really hot. We haven’t had much summer in the Okanagan, though, so it wasn’t particularly hot on June 26th in Osoyoos. Well, I guess it was actually pretty warm…

This was the first time I’ve been to Spirit Ridge Resort, and I have to say, the place is rather lovely. The area around was very “desert like”, complete with much of the vegetation you would see in any desert. And as I said, it was pretty warm…

Colin and Loretta were a great couple to work with, and I enjoyed this resort very much. I played up the drama of the desert location in their photos, and the day went without complications. Everyone had a blast!

Ford Family Maternity – June 20th, 2010

I’ve been a busy boy lately, and this is just ONE of the many sessions I’ve done. I’m still relatively new to the world of maternity photography, but I was really pleased with the images from this shoot. Lisa and Ben have a great little family, and everyone is really excited to see it “expand” (pardon the rather lose pun). We shot this session in 2 locations, one outside and one in my studio area. It was so much fun to do, and it was a blast creating these images!

Workshops, workshops, workshops

April was the month for workshops and travel, and marked what may be the end of my photographic education for this year. I had a great month with a trip to Seattle to attend a workshop put on by Warne Noyce of Noyce Photography. The day after that workshop ended, I spent a day in Portland with Mike Long of Katchlite Photography/ Portland Pinups. Mike does editing and retouching for a lot of my wedding work, and is simply a stunning Pin Up photographer. I had the pleasure of some great one on one teaching. He is an amazing person to learn from.

I came back armed with a new appreciation for lighting, retouching, and a few posing skills. Here’s a few shots from the workshops!
